This webpage from the New York Times offers interesting information about our corner (or really, any corner) of America.
Take race as an example and using Census Tract 1027 (south of Columbia Pike and west of Four Mile Run), that neighborhood is 17% white, 24% black, 36% Hispanic, 21% Asian and 2% other group.
For comparison sake, the nation as a whole is about 75% white, 12% African-American and 4.5% Asian. (Demographers as well as members of interest groups debate the meaning of Latino/Hispanic, but it’s probably in the ballpark of 15%.)
There is also data on rental rates, levels of education, family makeup and income. Be careful, you can waste a lot of your day there.
